Key Stage 1- local history study
Sun 03 Dec 2023As part of their local history study Key Stage 1 were lucky enough to have a visit from David Oates, a Local Historian from the Histon Village Society. David gave a fascinating talk about Chivers Jam Factory. He explained how the factory has changed over the last 100 years and the jam-making process. The children were given the opportunity to talk about their favourite jam flavours and to reflect on what it would have been like working there in 1923!
Year One and Two were great enquirers and asked David fantastic questions at the end. A great Historical afternoon.

Cross country success!
Sun 03 Dec 2023Thirty five children at the Park School, in Key Stage 2 took part this week at the South Cambridgeshire Schools Cross Country Championship held at Wimpole Hall. We have been training hard over the last few weeks. We were lucky to get amazing support from all the parents and carers who came along. The children ran brilliantly and were a huge credit to the school, particularly in the way they all supported each other and cheered each other on. Out of the 24 participating schools both our Year 5 boys team and our Year 5 girls team finished a brilliant 4th. I am so proud of them!
Both our Year 3 and Year 4 girls team finished 2nd out of 23 teams whilst our Year 4 boys finished 10th. Our year 3 boys team won their event!
The overall winners of the Year 3/4 competition were Histon and Impington Park Primary School and a lovely shiny trophy is currently sitting in my office. It was a truly fantastic team effort.
There is a lovely write up on the South Cambs Sports Partnership website (see below).
