  • Children In Need 2020

    Fri 13 Nov 2020

At HIIS today, we have been supporting the fundraising efforts of Children In Need.  One of our parents is currently walking 11,000 miles around the coast of mainland Britain to raise money for CIN.  Mr Howard, the Coast Walker, is currently in Cardiff and has raised over £18,000.  Today, we all joined him by walking a mile to see what it was like to be in his shoes.  We also joined him for a live Zoom chat where we got to hear about his adventure and ask him questions that we had!

Even our children who were working at home have joined in the fun!

Keep going Mr Howard-we are so proud!

  • Remembrance Sunday

    Sun 08 Nov 2020

Look at this beautiful poppy that has been made by Ella in Class 8.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

    Loved and were loved,

    and now we lie,

    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

The torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

    In Flanders fields.
