  • Comic Relief 2022

    Fri 18 Mar 2022

Today, HIPPS have supported Comic Relief by wearing red, dressing as superheroes or wearing their own clothes.  We have raised over £700 already! Take a look at the poster below designed by Oscar I.

  • Coop Community Fund

    Fri 11 Mar 2022

You will remember that we were one of the chosen causes for the Coop Community Schemes last year.  You helped to raise an amazing £1280. We were able to buy a scooter, twin taxi, rickshaw, tricycle and trailer.  The new Reception children have had a great time using these new resources! Thank you!

  • Mrs Leaney is back in the kitchen!

    Fri 11 Mar 2022

The lovely Mrs Leaney has been able to properly christen the kitchen here at HIPPS!  In the past, Mrs Leaney would cook once, if not twice a year, with everyone across the school.  Due to COVID, cooking had been put on hold for two years! This week, she was back working with Reception to make Gingerbread Men to link with the story they have been learning about this week!

She will be working with children across the school to cook over the coming terms so look out for more updates here!

  • Book Week 2022

    Fri 04 Mar 2022

What an exciting week we have had in school. The children have all thoroughly enjoyed all the activities that have taken place. Many thanks to all those parents/carers who took so much thought and care over their choice of words for the dressing up day on Thursday. We had ‘ferocious’, ‘indecisive’ and ‘colourful’ and also lots of new words that I had never heard of which have helped to widen my vocabulary!

We have been focusing on books with an environmental theme as part of book week. In Reception, they looked at story of ‘Somebody Swallowed Stanley’ following the journey of a plastic bag that has been thrown away. In Year 1,  they have looked at the book ‘One World’ by Michael Foreman focusing on children who find an oil spill in a rock pool and create their own mini-world. In Year 2, they have explored the book ‘Greta and The Giants’ and written their own persuasive speeches inspired by Greta Thunberg.  They also have been designing their own persuasive posters on the Ipads using Pic Collage.   In Year 3, they have been reading ‘There’s a rang-tang in my bedroom’ and then having designed a chocolate bar to be palm oil free have written persuasive letters to chocolate companies persuading them to sell their chocolate bar.We have been focusing on books with an environmental theme as part of book week.
