  • Library Refresh!

    Wed 28 Dec 2022

At the end of the Autumn Term, the team from the Norfolk Children Book Centre came and overhauled our library stock.  All books from around the school were bought to the library and every single book was catergorized! All our non-fiction was organised using the Dewey decimal system.  They bought with them £5000 worth of new books.  The library looks amazing and the children have been excited to choose new books for their book corners!

  • Christmas Tree Festival

    Sun 11 Dec 2022

The whole school have come together to contribute to our Christmas Tree for the village Christmas Tree Festival.  Our inspiration was a quote from Nelson Mandela which said " It is in our hands to create a better world for all who live in it."  Thanks to Mrs Clough and Mrs Rogers for coordinating!

  • Year 3/4 Big Schools Cross Country

    Fri 02 Dec 2022

23 of our Year 3/4 children headed to the Big Schools Cross-Country at Wimpole where 23 schools took part. Miss McStea and Miss Poulter were so proud of everyone’s focus and determination.  Mr Newman was there with the Brook and alternated his cheers between Brook and Park!  We found out on Thursday afternoon, once all the points were added, that HIPPS came 3rd overall in the Year 3/4 races.  We are SO proud of them because each person’s determination and enthusiasm helped to achieve this-well done team! Four members of the team have written a report about their involvement in the competition which you can read below.

On Wednesday 30th November, Miss Mcstea, Miss Poulter and Mrs Smith took us to Wimpole for the cross-country.  We were picked by the teachers from the mini-marathon.  There were two races for each year with one for boys and one for girls.  Each race had 120 children in.  There were over 900 children there! The race was 1 mile around Wimpole.  It was a bit muddy and the grass was slippery.  We saw some children fall over during the races!  All of our team completed the races without getting hurt.  Everybody was determined,  resilient and cheered on their team mates especially when we knew it was hard for them. The team were really proud of Ataiah who came 1st in the Year 3 girls race.  It was a great day but we were all really nervous especially the people who had not been before.  When we got back to school, everyone was so proud of us.

  • This May Help

    Fri 02 Dec 2022

This May Help has been created by the NHS to support parents and carers with concerns about their child’s mental health. The subjects covered on this website have been chosen by families and young people who have gone through their own mental health challenges. What helped them may also help you. The films offer advice across six main subject areas, with ten additional films offering supporting information. The films can be viewed in any order at any time. Each film has a dedicated page where you’ll also find helpful advice and links to other resources. The text for each subject is available from the downloads page.  Follow this link to find out more: https://thismayhelp.me/
