Histon and Impington

Park Primary School

Cross country success!

Thirty five children at the Park School, in Key Stage 2 took part this week at the South Cambridgeshire Schools Cross Country Championship held at Wimpole Hall. We have been training hard over the last few weeks. We were lucky to get amazing support from all the parents and carers who came along. The children ran brilliantly and were a huge credit to the school, particularly in the way they all supported each other and cheered each other on. Out of the 24 participating schools both our Year 5 boys team and our Year 5 girls team finished a brilliant 4th. I am so proud of them!

Both our Year 3 and  Year 4 girls team finished 2nd out of 23 teams whilst our Year 4 boys finished 10th. Our year 3 boys team won their event!

The overall winners of the Year 3/4 competition were Histon and Impington Park Primary School and a lovely shiny trophy is currently sitting in my office. It was a truly fantastic team effort.

There is a lovely write up on the South Cambs Sports Partnership website (see below).

Particular congratulations to Ataiah who won the Year 4 girls race(her second successive win), Finley and Harry H who finished second and third respectively in the Year 3 boys race and Lucia D who came third in the Year 3 girls race. We were the only school at the event to win four individual medals. Over 130 children took part in every race so well done everyone. Full results  are below:
