  • Library Refurbishment!

    Fri 04 Nov 2022

We were very lucky to have the library refurbished over half term.  The children had asked for tiered seating, beanbags and shelving where special books could be featured.  A team of Year 4 helpers have been putting the library back together.  In the new year, the Norfolk Children’s Book Centre are going to be helping to organise the library using the Dewey Decimal system and they will also help us to look at our curriculum from Reception-Year 6 and help us to select books that will help enhance the children’s learning.  We will then be looking to recruit a team of in-school librarians to help keep it organised!

  • Coop Community Fund

    Sat 22 Oct 2022

We have been selected to be part of the Coop’s Community Fund.  This means for every £1 Coop members spend in the Coop we will receive 1p and you will earn 1p.  We are going to use the money raised to buy woodwork benches and tools to use in school as well on our trips to the local wood.  Please help us raise as much as possible by signing up to become a Coop member, selecting our cause using this link https://www.coop.co.uk/local-causes (it goes live on Sunday 23rd October) and shopping at the Coop please.  If you have any questions, please ask Mrs Scheilling in Class 1.

  • Back in the kitchen!

    Fri 30 Sep 2022

Mrs Leaney has started cooking this week with the Year Four children.  As part of the Roman’s topic we’ve looked at the basic trio of foods they ate based around grain, grapes and olives. The children have made their own mini versions of a ‘panis quadratus’ which turned out fantastically.

  • Bronze Games Award!

    Thu 29 Sep 2022

We are delighted to have received the bronze School Games award.  This is a fantastic achievement as we have not been able to work towards this as an infant school.  Last year, the Year Three involvement in many sports activities, both in and out of school, has helped us to achieve the award.  We have already started to collate evidence to work towards our silver award which we hope to get at the end of this year!

  • Container Shed

    Tue 20 Sep 2022

We were lucky enough to have our container shed decorated during the Summer holidays.  The school council consulted with all the children last year and found out what they wanted included in the design.  We then looked at what book characters were most popular across the school and passed them onto Street Art Design.  It really has brightened up the playground!

  • Superstar Zak!

    Tue 20 Sep 2022

One of our children Zack in Year Four has taken on a challenge to raise money for Jimmy’s Cambridge! He has climbed the three National peaks within the first three weeks of September. This weekend, successfully made it to the top of Snowdon!  Zack wanted to do this challenge to raise money for Jimmy’s because he has always had a lot of concern for homeless people since the age of four, when he first noticed and learnt about them.  He has always given a large portion of the pocket money he earns for chores to rough sleepers he sees on the streets but has been wanting to do something bigger to raise a large amount of money to help homeless people for a while.  Zack has an online fundraising page if anyone would like to sponsor him.  We are so proud of you Zack!

  • Road Safety Talk

    Mon 04 Jul 2022

On Wednesday, we had a visit from Jon Morris, the Casualty Reduction Officer for Cambridgeshire who talked to all the children about Road Safety and the importance of wearing proper safety equipment when cycling or scooting. We were introduced to ‘Egg Sheeran’ who had two accidents the first one while he was wearing a helmet and the second one when he took his helmet off, see pictures below. Please ask the children to talk about the importance messages and discussions that they had.

  • Flower Festival

    Mon 04 Jul 2022

Huge thank you to Mrs Rogers who has coordinated and created the HIPPS display for the Flower Festival. The children made flowers from scrap materials in order to reuse rather than waste paper/card! What a beautiful display!

  • KS1 Jubilee Tea Party

    Fri 27 May 2022

This week, Year 1 and Year 2 hosted a jubilee tea party for their grown-ups! The children served their grown-ups the scones that they had baked as part of their DT learning. There was beautiful weather and smiles all round!

  • KS1 Trip to Hunstanton

    Tue 24 May 2022

This week,  Year 1 and Year 2 went on a trip to Hunstanton. The children visited the sealife centre and even had the chance to paddle in the sea! The children were amazing! They really impressed us with how well they behaved and how well they listened to instructions. We were super lucky with the weather and we all had a fantastic day. Here are a few photos of the trip - you can see more photos on our gallery page.
