  • 1st Place at Football Tournament

    Fri 24 Nov 2023

On Thursday, Miss Moule and Mr Fallon took a group of 8 boys to a football tournament at Linton Village College.  There were 14 schools involved including 4 other Meridian Trust schools.  Five matches were played and the team won three and drew two which was amazing.  After each match, each team had to score their opponents for Skill, Teamwork and Fair Play.   We were delighted that, in the final presentation, we scored highest out of all schools for skill!  Our success didn’t stop there! Our team was awarded the highest overall score in the three categories putting us in the pole position.  Each of the team members has been presented with their certificates in assembly today and they also received a Cambridge United jacket each!  We were so proud of how they worked together, the encouragement they gave each other and the other teams in the tournament.

  • Silver School Games Mark

    Wed 01 Nov 2023

We are delighted to announce that we, Histon and Impington Park Primary, have achieved the School Games Silver Mark Award for the 2022/23 academic year. The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success. With a total of young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible. As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year. Well done to all involved!

    Tue 12 Sep 2023

On Monday 11th September 2023, the choir went to visit Homerton College to perform for the new intake of trainee teachers on the primary PGCE as part of the "Welcome to the Profession" lecture.  The choir had been spotted during their Meridian Arts Showcase performance and invited by Mr Winstanley, deputy course director of the PGCE, to inspire the new recruits.

The choir sang "Sing", "Somewhere Only We Know" and "When I Grow Up".

The feedback from the trainees was so positive and a few tears were shed.  We were so proud of them!

  • Reception Trip to Wicken Fen

    Fri 28 Apr 2023

This week, Reception headed off on a trip to Wicken Fen.  They got to explore the outside going pond dipping and hunting for mini-beasts.  The adults were so impressed with the listening of all the children and how well they coped on their first ever school trip.

Hayley shared that her favourite part was when he found a spider under a log. Lots of the children talked about how much they enjoyed using the nets to discover what was living in the pond.  However, the highlight for the vast majority of children were keen to share that the coach was their highlight of the trip!

  • KS1 History Off The Page

    Sun 26 Feb 2023

As a big bang to their History topic, Year One and Two took part in a HOTP day linked to the Great Fire of London.  Master Craig who led the sessions was impressed by the children’s focus, engagement and enthusiasm throughout the two days.  The children were transported back to 1666 and discovered what life what like.  They took part in different jobs, becoming weavers, apothecaries and candle makers to name just a few.  Master Craig also shared information about how the fire started, why it spread and how it ended.  Thank you to the PTFA for subsiding the cost of this event.
